Its been really long since i have written so i have got lots to share.
Well let me begin with my thesis jury. My jury went quite well. For the 1st time in my entire 5 yrs, i had my sheets & model ready a day before the jury..... i was so proud of myself. The jurors liked my project but as usual thought i could have done much more. Well with d jury dates pre-poned, that was the best i could do. At least i was happy with my thesis project!!!!! That's more important.
My technical viva were okay!!!
Then there was pp viva which was more like....... just a talk!!!! The juror just flipped some pages of my work done in office & chatted for a while. That was it....... my pp viva.

Then we had this long break for pp paper. So in that time we decided to go to see the Pagoda at Gorai.
We took the boat to Essel World & before essel world is the Pagoda. Its the tallest hallow pagoda in the world. Its not yet complete.......interior parts are still 2 be done. There were a lot of people who had come to see the pagoda. The pagoda looked great, but d ventilators which can b seen spoils the whole beauty. Inside the pagoda was also cool. I guess even if u wisper the ego can be heard. Then we walked down to the gorai beach,.... which was stinking. So without waiting there we walked to the jetty....at tooka boat home.

On 6th April, i joined office again. For a week i had very little work 2 do and now i have lots on my list. Oh.... & now we have shifted to our new office...... its really cool...but i still don't have an LCD screen. the other half of the office is still getting done......actually its almost done now.

We also celebrated Uttam sir's 75th birthday on the 8th. We got him a old fashioned type nib pen which also has a cartridge with it. Also, we quickly made 2 folders for & put some papers in it he could use it to sketch. We printed some of the scanned sketches, which he had drawn on the cover of the folders. Also we put a small card with all our signatures on it. Sir loved the gift. He said he would keep the pen on his new cabin table. We also had brilliant cake brought by the status hotel owner, who is a friend of sir. it was great fun that day!!!!!

Another interesting thing that came up was, that we won the war memorial competition in Bhopal. Everybody was delighted. I had made the models for the project, during my internship. Sir was so happy that he announced that this would be his last project & that the rest of the projects can be handled by us.
Also celebrated Dad's birthday on the 17th of April. He got a bouquet of flowers, sent to him by some student. Mom got 2 pastries & i made a card for Dad.

THESIS THESIS THESIS ......and technical too !!!

Have a lot of work to do!!! atleast thesis is on track & i'm quite happy with how its going.....just starting technicals today!!! i want to finish technicals completely by 24th feb (thats our coll submission date). so that i dont have to do any changes after that except a few small ones. then i can concentrate on thesis completely.

well my last project in office was also really gud. i made the models for the war memorial competetion. the models & sheets were looking really really gud. i truely feel we should get the project. it was a very simple design witha really deep & gud concept.

OFFICE

Office has been a lot of fun. we had this competition work for which we had to stay in office till late everyday. it was a golf academy & clubhouse at Kharghar. but it was more fun when we stayed all night in office on the last day. most of the work was done by then, but the printing was taking long. so we were cracking silly jokes & decorating the model & just laughing at silly stuff. we slept on hydrolic chairs. each person had 2 chairs to themselves which kept slipping all night. but finally the sheets & models looked great & i was proud that i was a part of the project. i had made the master plan which had the road, cart path, parking & a lot of hatching (rendering). i also made some views on sketchup which were really well composed by Shona as thumbnail sketches on a whole A3 sheet. Uttam sir liked the sheet a lot. i did learn a lot from this competition. now there is another competition coming up. its a war memorial at Bhopal. that is also a exciting one & im sure ill learn a lot from it too.
On Friday i went for the Mario Miranda exhibition with office friends. it was really hilarios & we were all glad to attend it. we all bought postcards of his sketches .Shona called up & asked us to pick up 2 packs (6 big sketches) of his which were on sale, for all at office on there behalf. that was really nice of them & a good gift for all of us.

so on the whole i love my internship & hope to continue in this office after my exams. hopefully the new office will be ready by then.

ARNALA FORT

well long time since i wrote, actually there were a lot of things happing!!! let me start with the arnala fort trip. after a long time we guys (d 5 of us) meet up!! it was gr8. we shared our office experiences, clicked some real good pics at the fort & had a good butter chichen lunch (which mom made). we found a nice cool place for lunch. best part was getting into the boat. we had to go upto knee deep water to get into the boat. but it was a gr8 experience. arnala fort is on an island & the island had a good beach on the other side. we had a lot of fun out there!! on the whole it was agr8 trip with just the 5 of us on our own!!!

lighting a candle at the taj. saw the simley created by the 2 stars and the cresent moon right above the dome of the taj. it looked beautiful symbolising that even though the taj was put into flames its beauty will still remain.

well its been one week since my intership has begun. its goin on great.

first day was really strict as it was a long diwali break after which office had started, so they all were busy getting back to work. chirag sir was also busy coz he was going to raipur the next day & had to collect all the schedule & all to check on there project ( the capital complex) there in raipur. since he was in the work space all day, nobody talked or did any tp that day. i felt a little odd as in pankaj joshis office he would never be there all the time so it was much more relaxed out there. well chirag told sheetal to explain me what i have to work on. she explained to me the raipur capital complex project. i was amazed at the number of folders & folders inside folders. had heard about it but was still confused. i was given a small part of the Secretariat in raipur, to design architecturally. it was the disaster management center on the fourth floor of Secretariat. sheetal told me to go through the folders, 3d images and model pics & get used to it first, then start the design. so i did that & then i thought it would be better if i made a model. i started the model and till friday i had made 2 models, the second was again worked on so its as gud as 3 models. it reminded me of my first year project about surface development of a body part. uttam sir, also helped. he keeps taking rounds & suggesting ideas & showing references related to what one is doing.

thats about work. but otherwise all the staff there strangely look very familiar to me. like sheetal looks like neha panchal(a senior), rashmi looks like one of my vartak college freinds, and bhavna used to stay in vasai before, so she too seems like i have since her somewhere.
and i also figured out that its not always that the working environment is tensed out there. when none of the jains are around little tp does happen. when they are around also its not all that bad.
and how can i forget the wonderful walk along marine drive everyday. the mornings & evening walks from churchgate station to nariman point and vice-versa through marine drive is also so cool. well in short, i love my intership and the travel too.

another wonderful thing that happened was that my cousin who had gifted me my first cell gifted me my second cell too. that also the one which i was just goin to buy & that to on first day of work. i love my new nokia5310 phone, its great. its got camera, mp3, radio, gprs & lot more. while walking to work i listen to music on it. its really cool.

also saw fashion last sunday with freinds as after that we were not going meet for long. was a gud movie. could'nt stop thinking about it the whole day. then went to arnala beach. we wanted to go to the fort, but by the time we reached the jetty it was about 5 & we would'nt get enough time to enjoy as the last boat back was 6:30. so we just spent some time on the beach.

well lots of things have happened since my last blog. let me start with the bad & sad part. A very energetic...full of life guy from d 2 nd yr of my college passed away, while he was on a study tour. was very very shocking to all. its been about a week now but i still can't believe it. i still remember him in the rajmachi trek jumping around & helping us when we were lost in there. its a great loss !!!

well Diwali has come & all the preparations are done. shopping for bhav beej is also done. put up the lights yesterday. today is our(south indians) main diwali... so had bath with oil, coconut-haldi ras and "utna". mom did the "ovalni" as it is called and then we had dhood pooha, batata pooha & chana usal. in the evening, i made a rangoli out of the new format jali which i bought at dadar when i went for shopping......but its more fun to make those dots and your own pattern. this year onwards i have decided not to burn any crackers....i have lost interest now. i burnt a lot of crackers before. well thats all for now.

interview

Worked till 3 yesterday making my portfolio for the interview. Got up early today coz had to get prints from Andheri.Went for the interview at Uttam Jains office in Nariman Point. Was extremely nervous before the interview but when I went inside I was quite cool. The interview went quite well and unlike the one with Shashan Vartak, was a very fast one too. They told me that they would let me know whether I was selected later. Then today morning I got a phone call saying that I was selected and could join from the 3rd of November. Was very thrilled.
Oh and Ritesh also got in at Jains. Now he has to choose from Sameep & Jains. Rashmi is going to join her relatives office in Borivali...very closeby for her.

Well now that intership stuff is done, I can concertrate better on thesis. Got to work it out before the term ends. Guess I better sketch things out faster so that I dont keep scrolling and panning my cad files. Also need to make a model but not today coz I have a jury tommorrow. So I better start working....

I have been thing of starting a blog of my own for a very very long time. I guess Dushera is a good day start it....
Well did puja of my laptop, mouse, stationary & my thesis file. Also prayed to Godess Saraswati (the godess of knowledge), obviously to help me with my college stuff.
